Difference Arrows (first version)

This was my first attempt at a new idea for a sudoku variant puzzle adapted from standard Arrow Sudoku. In this variation, some circles have two arrows and for these you take the difference of the two sums.

Difference Arrows

  • Each row column and 3x3 box contains the digits 1-9.
  • Circles with a single arrow are as normal (the circle contains the sum of all digits along the arrow).
  • Circles with two arrows contain the difference between the two arrow sums.

I think this is quite a nice puzzle, and makes good use of the new rule idea. However, I was not happy that so many of the arrows overlap into the same cells. I also realised that it might be nicer if all the arrows were difference arrows rather than having a mixture of single and double arrows. I have since produced a couple of other puzzles where I acheived this. (1) (2)
