Anstey perform in the style known as cotswold morris, with dances originating from Adderbury, Bidford, Bampton, Bledington, Fieldtown, Bucknell and Lichfied. We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings. In the winter for practice in the Church Rooms in Anstey, and in the summer at various pubs mostly in Leicestershire and South Notts.
The side are sponsored by Everards brewery, or more specifically the Everards Original beer.
I joined around about 1999 and was bagman (secretary and treasurer) for a number of years. I still maintain the website, and am still involved in liasing with other sides over joint dance spots and other events.
If you would like to come and see us perform, or come along to practice and consider joinnig the side (men only I'm afraid - sorry Julie). Take a look at the details on the Anstey Morris website and follow the links to the events page or the practice page.
